Nestled in the heart of a wooded park, the Hôtel du Château sits halfway between nature and heritage.

Right in the centre of Combourg, the location also lets you enjoy the refined offerings of local shops, or Chateaubriand's home, a 12th-century château, through a fascinating tour.

Combourg has its own SNCF train station, just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The journey takes 2h15 from Paris and only 30 minutes from Rennes or Saint-Malo.
The region offers numerous routes for cyclists and hikers, while the bus network makes getting around easy.
Access by car is also easy, with parking available.



For over two hundred years, and once a coaching inn, the Hôtel du Château has welcomed travellers at the gateway to Brittany. Formerly known as Hôtel du Château et des Voyageurs, it was owned for 3 generations by the Pelé-Chaudron family, before being taken over by a couple from Finistère in 2014, and finally by the current owners in 2026.on, avant d’être repris par un couple de Finistériens en 2014 et enfin par les propriétaires actuels en 2026.
The Hotel is divided into three buildings of Breton architecture, surrounding a wooded garden. Granite walls, slate roofs. The main building, on Place Chateaubriand, was built around 1880. The one running along Rue de l'Abbaye dates from 1719. It was extended and remodelled at the end of the 19th century to house Combourg's former police station. These buildings are listed in the French monumental and architectural heritage register.
